About this Project

When I created my very first training on Gamification, I explained the differences between “game-based and gamified”, and promised to create a follow-up training highlighting those differences. This project was aimed to show how you can create a semester-long game, theme, or story to keep students’ engaged and connected with both the learning materials and your learning platform. Below are the training slides I used to discuss the technical best practices and implementation of game-based learning classrooms, and you can see more about these projects in my Course Design section which shows the LMS portion of these examples.

Abstract

By combining the powers of Canvas with game-based learning principles we can create an online learning environment where students are engaged, challenged and excited to participate. Venture beyond badging and basic GBL tricks and transform your curriculum into a game all students can win.
